I'm in the middle of my swap, and have run into a major problem... I don't know what clutch kit to get. I was told that a clutch kit for a VTEC del Sol would fit, but the Exedy clutch kit I got off eBay does not match up.

A few differences:

>The pressure plate and flywheel only use six bolts to mount together (should be nine??)
>The throwout bearing included in the kit is totally wrong
>The clutch disc splines are larger than the input shaft splines

The only thing I can think of being the reason is the Y1 tranny... LSD must be different from the non LSD trans.

What can I do? Just find a clutch disc that fits correctly and run the old throwout bearing and only 6 pressure plate bolts?

Anyone else used an Exedy clutch kit successfully?

Get a 90-91 Integra clutch.

Where did I go wrong? Did I get the wrong clutch kit? Do I just need the clutch disc?

B-series flywheels are all the same, and the pressure plate isn't splined, so I'm gonna say yeah, you'll just need the clutch disc. When you're buying a clutch you should buy it according to the transmission you have. JDM B16 cable trannies have the same input shaft as 90-91 US Integras.

the delsol uses a hydraulic clutch set up. which uses a different throwout bearing. so you need a different disk and a throwout bearing for a 90-91 teg.
