In the past, at other sites, I've had to suspend priveleges a few times. This was ALWAYS accompanied by an e-mail to the account owner, outlining what was done, and exactly WHY it was done. And it was made clear that this action was purely TEMPORARY, contingent upon their agreement to cease the wrongdoings. It wasn't one of those "If you apologize real nice like, I *might* let you back in" kind of things; just pointing out that their access was going to be suspended for the time being, and if they wanted to come back and abide by the site's rules, they were welcome to do so. This worked better than you might think. I NEVER had any problem with anyone when using this approach, and it generally seemed to help things along. It helped the offending party realize exactly where the line was drawn, and it helped the sites continue to move along peacefully.
Now, given a certain someone's suspension here, and their (apparent) subsequent decision to register under another name and then to post hardcore porn on this site, I'd say turning the other cheek is pretty much out of the question. Ban him. Judging by his maturity level, we're much better off with him gone for good.
