If you are serious enough to tow tires to an auto-x, you probably won't like the weight that that'll add to your car.

If it is JUST for a small tire trailer, i can make one out of aluminum for you... sure, it won't be as cheap as a made-in-taiwan uhaul unit, but it'll weigh a lot less ;)

A friend got a custom one made for his EF hatch that utilises existing bolt holes. I intend to put one on my CRX. I'll have to get the design from him again. Do I now have your interest?

Rafaelli: Sorry, i haven't had much time to price it out, been very busy putting some finishing touches onj another project. Anyway, i'll get the info for you in another day or two on the aluminum one.

And yes, it would use existing bolt holes, and still allow you to keep your tow hooks ;)

By the way, what sort of exhaust do you have? Do you have a picture of the back of your car showing the exhaust?

Love to see the design.
I'll try and get hold of my buddy soon. Another idea to compliment this design that my brother had on his Nissan Hardbody pickup was the access to the hitch. He had a rear licence plate mount from an Oldmobile or something that has the gas filler behind it. He mounted that on the truck so he could fold it down to access the hitch, hooking-up the tongue. It may not work-out on CRXs as there may be no place to go through the bumper behind the rear licence plate.

I know this is a seriously old post but did you ever get the design from your friend on this hitch?

It was Jason Nash I was speaking about.

I haven't been able to contact him. I found him on Facebook but he hasn't authorised me. I don't know if he frequents it or not. I'll send him a new message asking about the hitch.
