How does everyone have a video recroder in their crx? I just got a video recorder and don't know what to use or where I would like to mount it at in my car so that it gets a good picture.

I'm going to try to make something like this.http://us.st11.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.com/ ... 29_9944157

I don't think it should be to hard to make. Take a peice of square pipe, cut it to lenght. Then drill 4 holes for the headrest post. By using both head rest I think it should be held in place strong. And then either mount the camera to the pipe with either a bolt or find a adjustable mount. Also a nice coat of paint will make it look nice.

that would work if our headrests were adjustable. I would look into somehow fabbing up something like a load bar that would lock into the B pillar, kinda like a harness bar.

with a Bogen super clamp.

I used super clamps to mount cameras in 911 GT3 cup cars... they hold up well, and provide a solid mount for the camera. You can thread the camcorder directly onto the clamp too, just like your tripod.

Aren't the head post long enough that they would be able to go through a 1'' tube and still go into the set deep enough?
The super clamp is a clamp. It was designed to hold lights to rafters on film shoots. I was clamping them around the roll bars in the Cup cars. I would use something like the load bar to make a removable mount. Then attach the clamp to the bar, and thread the camera onto the mount. Another thing to check is if that will be legal for SCCA rules. The bar may need to be bolted in.

A friend of mine uses a big suction cup to record runs in his miata, mounting it on the top of the trunk lid. If I were doing it (roll bar and proper mount aside) I would try to hang it like that from the rear glass.
