Hey guys. I joined up yesterday with the rush and I wanted to post my hatch. I know this is a CRX site but I don't own one (I did, I used it for parts because it was way to rotten to salvage). Here we go.
I got her in spring 2004 of my parents for 500$. It was rusting, was automatic, had nothing done to it and it was a 1.5L DPFI STD hatch. Good enough for me. I hated the car. Always broke down, needed a new everything and burned more oil then my prelude haha. So I said screw it, time to tear her down and put a new engine in it, and do a 5 speed swap in summer 2005.
No pictures were taken during the transformation. I didn't know ANYTHING about hondas, or cars in general when I did this. The most work I had ever done before this was swapped my own front end after a small accident (screw you probe). School started up in the fall of 2005, and the project got set back. I brought her back out in spring 2006 and it was almost done the conversion. I was poor, and was missing alot of parts but I was just glad to get my hatch back.

At this point, I had done a full under the hood and front end flat black paint, using rubberized undercoating on the frame after taking off all the rust, same with the inner fenders and front peice. I wanted to stop the rusting and maybe squeeze a few more years out of my hatch. I threw in a SOHC ZC because I picked it up for 100$, including Si tranny, shift linkage, mounts, alot more stuff. It ran great. Didn't burn a drop of oil and sitting the way it was took me into a 15.7 on the 1/4 mile. It was a hideous car. Over the summer I worked an awesome job and made alot of extra cash. I went and finished up my interior (full crx dash with black Si interior), I lowered it on H&R race springs and I put on some Si wheels.
It looked like this when I was done: http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1734983
I had also fixed the multicoloredness haha.
Then I did a B16 swap, it was awesome. I did a full obd1 conversion using obd2 injectors and dizzy (lower kms parts, easier to find replacements). I swapped the B16 and did the conversion in 3 days, giving me 1 day for trouble shooting. I had some issues with my ECU throwing odd codes like traction control, and vtec oil pressure (JDM ECU shouldn't throw vtec oil pressure, but I doubt I got the right ecu from Teknotiks). It was all good. It gave me no issues until I went to go see Bart in Ohio, and my mount snapped. That's where I learned a valuable lesson. OBD1 engine mounts don't work in OBD0 cars...my B16 hatch was taken from me. I was in school again and had no money to fix it. So it sat...and still does to this day. Infact, next week I'm swapping out the B16 for an LS. I might just fix the B16 and put it back in, or build a crazy GSR...
From that point on I told myself that I wasn't gonna half ass anything anymore. I was very upset with my busted B series that when it came time to do other swaps, I was gonna do my research first. And then I got hired to do my friend H22 accord swap: http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1796446 .
Well, that's my story, hope you guys can appreciate a hatch as well.
