Alright so I got tired of the local bowshop not understanding what I'm trying to tell them is wrong with my bow, more specifically my bow sight. Each time I go there they talk me into trying (buying) a new sight which they say may help with my issues. After a while it seemed too convenient that they can't seem to understand my concerns but keep making money because they don't understand. I told them exactly what I needed but they assured me I didn't know what I saying since I was a newbie at the sport.

Sooo... I welded my own damn bow press so I could fix my own damn bow the way I want to without any "professionals" preaching to me. The issue with my bow is resolved and now I have a reliable bow press that cost me a grand total of 42 bucks... boat winch, 2 trailer rollers, scrap metal from work!

$42 is a $277 savings over this $319 press

LOL I didn't think anyone would notice the muscles.

And, I took the pix with my phone then sent to my email. Not sure how to resize them. Any ideas anyone? It'd be nice to blow those pix up to show the craftsmanship. Did everything by eye; can't even tell from 6 feet away that it's not a store bought item.

Yeah I could makem and sellem, only there's this thing called the gubmint. They'll probably want a 50/50 cut. Then I gotta pay some some lawyer dude(s). Of course do my hw so I don't infringe on any copyright laws, violate any established patents. Oh I hear them things cost 15g's just to legalize. I'm a fanatic, the businessman in me died years ago.

Did I ever tell you guys I invented the rubber bullet when I was 12?

the patent on that doesn't belong to Apple Archery, so either they don't care, or its made by someone authorized.

the one is for using two arms to flex the bow, the other for using a hydrolic jack (from my brief glances over the US patents)

oh dear god, I'm turning out like on of my professors

As long as you were 12 before about 1970 (making you about my parents' age, and I'm 26), it's possible...history of the rubber bullet here:

As far as the government goes, I think you can sneak under the radar by selling a few on eBay now and again or selling them locally in your area. Nobody really cares until you start making enough money for them to bother with trying to get their cut of it. Go for it, make some drinkin' moiney.

Dude.... this is America.

Make it, sell em on eBay, and then IF anyone says anything, they will likely just send you a cease-n-decist letter stating their claim to the product/idea and the rights to sell it, along with their proof... then at that point, you cease... and in the meantime, you've made a few bucks on the side messing around with stuff you enjoy.

:p

Anyhoo, nice fab work though, and thinking outside the box with materials! 8)

Ryan, although I may have turned 12 in '87, I don't care what anyone says, I invented the rubber bullet dangit! It's funny now looking back 'cause I was all happy thinking about the millions I would make. Long story short - it for some reason occured to me that what if instead of cops having to shoot and likely kill "bad guys" that they put something else inside the bullets instead of metal?... Ooooh what about "bouncy rubber balls"? Yes!!!... Well, Shortly thereafter telling people about my idea, an older someone broke it to me that it'd already been invented many years before I was even born.

John, yeah you're right but it took me 4 hours total to design, cut, weld, and paint the whole thing. In twice that time I could do a motorswap for someone and make an easy $5-700 without any advertisement/ebay hassles or materials costs. And in that same amount of time, I could drag my trophy buck out of the forest or fill a livewell full of bass which is more valueable than money.
