Skunk2 and B&M are usually considered the best short shifters available. They come with instructions, but here's a write-up.

Don't waste your money on a short shifter.
Mostly it just encourages to eat the syncro's.

Learn to shift. Much cheaper! :lol:

You can ruin the synchros with a stock shifter too. Like Matt pointed out, it's all in the technique, so short or stock throws become a matter of preference.

The first time I experienced a short shifter in an EF was in an 89 Sedan, and I loved the way it felt.
