How do the classifications EFX work, where X is a number? I understand an SiR is an EF8, but there are other EF ones, and there are some for DC, EP, EG, EK, EM, etc. Can someone give me a Honda classification system or family tree or something?

OK I have read the whole list some place,but I'll be danged if I cant find it.
OK I will try to answer this one "off the cuff".

EF9=(JDM) civic hatch SiR
EF8=(JDM)CR-X SiR
EF7=(JDM)CR-X Si
EF6=(JDM)CR-X with a dual carbed 1.5L
EF5=I do believe this was the civic shuttle(not positive)
I'm a bit sketchy on the EF1 -5 sorry..

ED9=(USDM)CRX Si
ED8=(USDM)CRX Dx
ED7=(USDM)civic hatch Si
ED6=(USDM)civic hatch Dx

The EG chassis code refers to the 92-96 body style civics(once again I cant find that super duper handy dandy list I once had) :(

The DC refers to the integra chassis code
DC5=The bad boy teg type-r

ahh I will finish this when I can..I'm searching for that list so I dont go misquoting myself.
See less See more
DA5 is the 90-93 integras
DC2 is the 94-01 integras minus type r
DC5 97-01 integra type r

now the civics from 92-95 i dont know all of them but i know

92 civic 4 door lx is an EG8
93 civic hatch si is an EH3
94 civic coupe dx is an EJ2
96 civic coupe ex is an EJ6

those are the ones i have layin around my house i found paperwork with the vin for.

what that code is is part of the vin number. its the 4th 5th and 6th digits of the vin number.

DC5 is the 4th gen Integra chassis, aka RSX.

not a 3rd gen Type R.

ED8. I immagine the Si got a different number due to the sun roof.
4dr 94-01 tegs also have a different identification.. DB(something) I believe.
4 dr tegs are DB's, my GSR is a DB8.

DC5 is an RSX, not an integra, as jfrolang mentioned.

Keep in mind the RSX IS the Integra on the other side of the pond.
Guys:A RSX IS an integra.
Link here for reference.
Oh and a DC5 is a teg type R as I stated.Although retagged RSX its still an integra.I just didnt say what year.
As far as a USDM crx HF that one befuddled me.I will look on that one.

I know it's an Integra. That's what I said.
