Aight, well my wheels finally showed up for my truck... They are 20" x 10" Weld Racing "Dune Pro-Crushers"... the itres going on them are 295/45-20 Kumho Ecsta STXs.

I'm taking them over to Jonny_Blacks place tomorrow to get them mounted/balanced and stuff..... man, these should look sliiiick. also, i have some new fender flares on the way for the truck to, to sort of 'fill out' the sides...

LoL.... thanks! Yea, they are actually a faux bead-lock, since it isn't legal to have a real beadlock on the roads... the black outer ring just bolts onto the wheel... but its still cool, cause you can get different color rings, and change the entire look of the truck whenever you want

And the cash flow? I rent out midgets for the weekends... ya know, parties, graduations, barmitsvahs...... :p

Just kidding of course... hehe.

I'm just a humble welder, ya know? ;)

Too bling?..... well, if you happen to add up the fact that tires-included, and since i had to actually buy 5 of everything instead of 4 (gotta have the spare match the rest ya know!), the value of the wheels, tires, special lug nuts, mounting & balancing (which i'm hopefully gunna get a hook up on... hehe!), and all that..... is worth well over what the actual truck is valued at.

:(

Oh well, it'll still look bad-ass! haha! I'm even thinking about having them painted instead of leaving them polished (they are polished, and not chrome by the way).... be easier to clean, and maybe look a bit better/toned down.

My reasoning for "bling" is that it would be tempting to those who want to steal things. I hear all the time about rims being stolen. Don't misunderstand me...if I had the money...I would think about it...very hard. They look sweet.

FUCK toyota for making something with 4x4 hubs in the front that require different sized wheels than the rear.... damn!

Ah well, wheel option is out. Unfortunately the wheels would require machining to fit, and while i'm more than capable of doing that mod here at the shop, i don't want to machine and ruin a set of $3000 wheels... so they went back, the truck is back up for sale, and i'm buying a Benz, Bimmer, or something of the like... maybe a Lexus or something stupid like that.

FUCK IT!

Yea, i'm having a SUPER day so far.... haha! the only relief i have in sight is a birthday party next weekend... ::sigh::

If I like a set of wheels enough I am willing to do anything. I redrilled the hubs on my Mercedes (5X112) to fit my $4700 19" forged HRE's that I had on my M3 (5X120)
They look great on my CLK :)

I hear ya... i've done stuff like that in the past just to make something work that wasn't meant to... Unfortunatly, i am not willing to do -anything- to keep the truck... so the wheels lost that round. lol.

What year CLK do you have by the way? Do you like it? any issues with it? whats your pet peeves about it?

I'm looking at a 1998 CLK230 this week...

That CLK (W208) comes in 3 basic flavors. CLK 320 V6 3.2 liters, CLK 430 V8 4.3 liters and CLK55 AMG V8 5.5 liters supercharged.
I would stay away from the 98-99, MB refreshed the looks in 2000 and made a few improvements to the car. I would buy a 2000 and up. I have a 2002 last year of the 208 and I am very happy with it. There is just one thing I would say about mercedes, there is nothing more expensive than a cheap mercedes. Buy one with the lowest miles possible and definitely reject MBs that have been repainted or have had body work done in any way.

Unlike a standard rim, where the tire bead rides in a groove with a built-in lip, which keeps the tire from pushing out, and physically locks it to the wheel.... a beadlick wheel would be like basically mounting the tire on the -outside- of the wheel lip, and then having antoehr piece of metal bolt to the wheel on the outside of the tire, and literally clamp the tire in place around the entire bead surface.

This is used in racing applications where you don't want the tire to slip on the wheel, and in offroad applications where you have to run such low pressures in the tire (under 5psi), that if it were a normal wheel, the bead would come unseated rather easily.

It's illegal in all states, regardless of emissions since it presents a much higher risk for damage or breakage than a normal wheel ;)
