welcome.

What engine does the car have in it? if its a dohc 1.6 then its been swapped out. The U.S. model crx's only came with a sohc 1.6.

If it is swapped then the o2 sensor may not be right. My old dohc B16 had 2 o2 sensors and I wired them backwards. It caused a bogging and hesitation when i floored it.

It could be a number of things like the distributor, timing, bad gas if its sat for a while. It might just need a good tune up too.

Your motor is a B16A if it is truly a DOHC 1.6 Liter engine. I would just recommend taking it to a shop and getting a tune up to begin with. That would consist of:
  • New sparkplugs
    New sparkplug wires
    New distributor cap and rotor
Oil change (w/ a new oil filter obviously)
New air filter for your intake box
Even if that doesn't cure your problems it is something that should be done anyhow. If that doesn't help. Then looked into a clogged catalytic convertor (that's in your exhaust system, pretty much right under where you sit). The o2 sensor can always cause issues. Typically if the o2 sensor is shot, you'll get an intermittent check engine light. It'll pop on after driving for a few minutes, but then go away by the time you start the car next.
