That thing would suck it would totally erase all interior space and you would gain nothing from it. I personally think its worthless if you want a crx that looks like that get a DEL-SOL

Very old and not very appealing(my opinion), but how much does it weigh? If it's significantly lighter some might want it just for that.
I think it might function better if the sides were plexiglass too, to maintain at least some of the rear side visibility.
Hell someone might be able to remove the inside portion and remake it like stock, just lighter.

Hahaha, I just noticed the rear squirter is still there, is it for the look of it peeing on that hatch?, lol they should have shaved it.

Well not brand new, but released within the last year or two...

Yeah the only advantage is the "weight reduction"
eledgidly resulting is better acceleration, and improved braking...
do some research and you'll see this was created to remove the heavy glass back and steel hatch...

with a Fiberglass Body kit, FG fenders/ corner panels, etc, this should bring the total weight of the car way down...

-just didnt see anything about it posted here and wanted to see other peoples opinions of it, cause i know it looks like hell-
That hatch has been around since before I got my first CRX in 1999. Maybe not that exact one, but the same concept. It's still butt ugly IMHO.
Wasn't Disco_Stu doing a custom hatch almost exactly like this at one point?

As for the fiberglass body kit, fenders, etc.. If I remember correctly, the thin steal used to build our cars weighs less than the fibergalss panels. I recall someone wieghing the fiberglass fenders and the OEM fenders and the OEM were considerably lighter.

There's a company (someone will chime in here wit hthe name) that sells lexan replacemnt windows for the rear of our cars. It maintains most of the stock appearance and brings the wieght down considerably.

I wouldnt want to shave a ton of wieght out of the rear. That will leave the majority of the wieght up front, totally destroying the front/rear wieght ratio.

If you're -that- desperate to lose weight, get a carbon hatch.
Really, once the glass is gone, the hatch doesn't weigh anything. Putting lexan in the original one works almost just as well.

Besides, if it's a track mod, it's even more useless because it limits visibility alot.

...I do like that front end tho.
