Got my hands on a DOHC Zc with transmission, shift linkage and Ecu for a decent price.

This will replace my SOHC Zc that i have in the car currently and will be put in next spring, pending the body work is done and the fundage is there.

Hopefully by April/May '07 the car wil be done, body/paint work, swap and suspension completed.

Ok, so you get like 12 more hp?

j/k, if it's a good motor at a good price, have fun, especially if you can install it yourself.
I know it is not an astromical increase in hp, but this will be my 3rd Zc motor i have owned, and to be honest, i really do enjoy the Zc. I had an OBD1 DOHC Zc in my 5th gen hatch and i was very pleased with that motor.

The main reasons i went for this for my Crx is:
Ease of installation, cost, ability to still use D series components and just to be different. Everybody runs out and gets the overhyped, overrated b16. I wanted a mild power increase and not break the bank. The car is not a drag car, simply just wanted a few more ponies for a soon to be clean Crx.
Plus as corny as this sounds i like the look of a twin cam under the hood, it fills space better  and the fact that most ppl when they see it think it is just an "LS" motor.

Maybe someday down the road, boost will be an option, but not at this time.

Ok, I think everybody knows by now that you hate B16s. :) That's probably because of the minimal low-end increase you get when switching from D16A6 to B16A. For myself, going from a D15B2 auto, anything would be spectacular and a 2nd gen B16 will be plenty. For now.

About the B18 confusion, yeah I still get confused at first glance between DOHC ZCs and B18As. B18Bs have a different valve cover though, so no confusion there.

Yea, thats right, the b18bs are more, i guess you could say plain.
No "H", no "grooves" just little white letters that say Honda Motor Co.

After sitting in my garage covererd up for a few months, it is finally in.
Had some issues as the motor was not as good as i was led to beieve.
Headgasket was absolute junk, blew apart between 1,2 and 3 cylinders.
I know i am the 1st one to say meausre twice , cut once, and i got bit in the ass for not following my own advice. Should have just had that done before it was put in the car.
Some minor bugs to work out and but it's in.

It's already in the car and runs good.
Simple little things I need to do:
-adjust the clutch
-play with the idle
-figure out the code it is throwing
-install hood release cable
-put the bumper & support back on
-figure out and fix my tail light harness
-get a new gasket to go between the header and the cat.

Stupid little things, but overall it's running very well.

Good luck, Baker, glad to see you got your motor in.

I think the ZC is underrated. I've driven mine about 14,000 miles now and I'm very happy with it. It smokes a bit (oil rings stuck still) but the compression's 175 all around and the low-end torque is great. The stock motor's acceleration from 50-75mph in 5th was always awesome - this is even better.

:firstplace: Have fun!
