what's up everyone. i just joined the site. glad theres a place for the crx enthusiast. I'm 24 and live in lil ol' wyoming. I had a 89 crx si with a 95 civic motor in it. lasted three weeks before it was stolen off my driveway. completly stripped and left upside down submerged in an irragation ditch. (I F***** hate theives) but loved the X so much that I had to get another one. Now I have a 89 crx dx auto. I plan on puttin in the d16 along with a 5 speed. So if anyone knows where to get a pedal assembly or anything else to help with this project i'd appreciate it. My DX was in a hit n run about 8 months ago. I've slowly been gettin her back to normal since then. Had to replace the hood, so i went with the evo style carbon fiber. also swapped the stock rims for 16" A.R. Casinos. If anyone has done the auto 2 manual swap i'd appreciate any helpful advice. Living where i do makes it very hard to find people who really know what they're talking about. thanks for having me guys and I look forward to meeting all the rest of the crx community. p.s. i'll be posting pics of my X as soon as i figure out how

for the auto to manual swap there's 2 ways you can do it. first off, pop your hood and check to see if you have a rubber thing that plugs up a hole in the firewall. if its not already there you will need to drill a hole in there for the clutch linkage. ( here's a pic of my engine, my car is auto but it has the plug)

the first way to do it is by getting a ecu from a manual crx and then installing the 5spd assembly.. the second way.. kinda rigging it, but it works is to loop a wire so the car thinks its in neutral all the time so you can take the key out of the ignition.

Ok I got the picture thing figured out as yall can tell. first off my X wasn't stolen here, I was living in Salt Lake, Utah at that time. and as for the d16, I'm going with that because it's cheaper. I'm not looking to have a 10 sec X just something easy to drop in and have some fun with. Also my last X had the same setup and i loved that thing for the short time i had it.

Welcome to the site, and addiction! My first rex was an 88 Auto DX. That car made me fall in love with the CRX. And I'll always own one (or two or three).

Welcome to the forums. I've also done an auto-to-manula swap on my 89 Dx. I can let you know any details you need about converting the car and such. I did a couple of things differently than in that writeup.
As for the wiring, I gutted the whole car and re-ran the main wiring harness form the same Si that i took the d16 and tranny from so that i would be clean and factory like since i was changing from dpfi to mpfi and auto to manual at the same time.
Let me know if you need any advice, shoot me an IM or something.
