welcome to the community california man here, so i cant come over and help but a few things to check. 1) pull the cap off the radiator with the car cold and try starting it, if you get water jetting out of your radiator you got a blown head gasket and you will need to replace it if not 2)does it overheat right away or take a few minutes? if it takes a few minutes check your thermastat and hoses if your hoses feel at all mushy (they should feel pretty stiff) you might need new hoses. i think there is deffinately more info needed but those are a couple things to check to get you started.

thank you i am picking the car up hopfullythis weekend and planned on th e thermostat already. if it is the head gasket itr us not an internal leak, the oil is clean. the guy who is selling it said it started to overheat so he put in a new radiotor. the fan is wired to a toggle swicth. i dont know why he did not try a thermostat. but whatever it is i only paid 100 for it and to me the body is well worth that.
