On a friend's advice, I bought and installed a nice leather steering wheel cover. Wheelskins seemed to have a great reputation and I got a good deal on eBay. The leather is very high quality and fit perfectly.
Though the cover interferes with my habitual position of holding the spokes of the wheel, it improves grip and feel tremendously. I like it.
I documented the installation if anyone thinks that would be useful for this site. (Hey, it might be for other simpletons like me. Stop laughing.)
My only complaint is that I thought charcoal would look good in contrast to the black. But after installation, I would have preferred black.
