This is a very nice, non modified 1989 CRX Si. I bought the car from the original owner in 1994. It has always been garaged and well taken care of. The car has 117K original miles. It had a major service done at 110K miles by the local Honda dealer which included a new timing belt. I have the receipt with all the work that was done. The car does not leak or burn any oil. There is no rust. It starts, idles and runs great. The transmission is smooth and precise. Everything works as it should. The AC, power top, etc. The interior is all original down to the floor mats. There are no tears or damage to the seats or carpet. I'm not going to say that the car is perfect. All in all, I would say that the car is in very good to excellent condition. 2700 Selling price.

okay I'm having deja vu here.

Last year when I bought my car from ebay, I looked at a ton of auctions, and I swear that car was one of them. I guess it never sold? I thought I remember following it on the "my ebay" page and it did sell. Too bad I deleted all my saved auctions from that time not long ago.

What I remember for sure is, it was an '89, si, red, pictures were in a forest on a road, in Alabama, and it had those nasty huge white fog lights.

I'm doubting my sanity over here!

okay I did some digging in my way-too-big collection of crx pictures and found I had saved the pics of the car. From feb. 27 2006.

One of the pics shows the odometer at 119,504.

This auction says the mileage is 117,000. Errrm...yeah. Negative mileage over a year's time, wow!

All the more generic looking pics are on this current auction, while more specific ones like scratches are not.

I'll upload some to my webspace and post 'em so you can see the fraud.

Okay here are the pictures.

First the odometer, which the fraud seller didn't include (and doesn't match the number on the auction):

Pictures that are the same, only the license plate is scattered, not blocked with a red rectangle like in the current auction.

Pictures I've had for a year and were not included in the fraud auction.

I hate these eGay scum-turds!

Well they could have tried to sell it a yr ago and maybe it didn't sell/meet reserve.Since the auction does not show any odometer pics, maybe the 117k is simply error?

Well I'm pretty sure it did sell, I mean look at it, it's in great shape. Shame is I had the end of auction page saved up until this year, I deleted some old stuff.

If it is the same seller:

Why didn't they just take new pictures this year?
Why did they edit the pictures with the red box on the plate?
Why did they leave out the odometer picture, the scratch picture, etc?
Why is their Ebay join date feb 10 of 2007 -- and with no feedback to boot!!

Making a mileage "error" as you put it is a pretty bad mistake! That and the VIN number are some of the things you should get right on in my opinion. I'd pull the auction just for that.

It probably seems I'm getting way to excited over this, however, I was nearly defrauded TWICE last year when I was trying to buy a CRX on ebay. So I'm sensitive to it. I reported the auction to ebay, they can investigate.

I don't want anyone to get EF'd over.

Great shape or not, doesn't mean that it DID sell. Like i said, maybe it did not meet the reserve and you don't know FOR SURE, if it even sold.

Yes but errors do happen, sometimes they do go unoticed and it may be a legit error.
Do you know what it costs to list a vehicle? If you end the auction, you don't get that listing fee back, which can run upward of $40 at a time. If there was an error, i would def edit the auction letting possible buyers know abotu any VIN or milage errors.

Regardless, it still is a pretty clean Crx.
With you reporting it, it will be interesting to see what comes of this.

thx ollie, I like to be safe than sorry.

Ebay has my message about it, they have a little under 24 hours before the auction is over. I emailed the seller about the car, just asking a few questions like a potential buyer would, still no response.

Yeah, I spotted that one a day after it came up, popped the seller an email asking where he was in AL, didn't get anything back....

well the auction finished, but only had one bidder due to the seller canceling all the other bids.

Pretty fishy to me. Oh well I tried.

Interesting. I just got the message from the seller:
Hi,

I'm really sorry for this late reply but I've been very busy lately and away from a computer. The car is located in Centreville AL . It has all the papers as well as the service book. The car has 117K original miles on board, does not drip, leak, lean, smoke, pull to one side, vibrate, or make funny noises. It has never been in ANY wreck, has never hit a curb, was never hit while parked, the alignment is perfect, it tracks smooth at any speed. It has a clean carfax which confirms the accuracy of the mileage.
It has a clear title and it will be signed and notarized on your name as soon as the payment will be completed. I want this transaction to be as smooth as possible as I am caught in the middle of some very important events and have very few time at my disposal. The price is only $2,700.00 including shipping costs anywhere in the continental US and insurance charges.
Regarding the payment I am aware of the buyer's protection and we will use Ebay's motors vehicle purchase protection program which will hold the payment until you receive the car. To complete payment the buyer must have cash available.
If you are interested in this car please provide me the following information's necessary to take a decision :
-your full name and address for shipping
-eBay ID
-your phone #
-any negative feedback and if so .... for what reason .
Once again I apologies for requesting this but I need to be sure I am dealing with interested people as I really don't have much time to spear.
Thanks,
Sena Brothers

I got the same exact reply, word for word. And the time of the answer was about 7 minutes after the closing, when you could not call them and make the $2700 bid which is what they SAID they were asking. It just seemed too good to be true. Maybe it was, maybe not.

Hmm
We'll have to see if it pops up again For Sale.
I wonder if this isn't a scammer who's hoping that folks will send money on a closed auction, so that you don't have the bay protection...
