I've been running 10W30 or 10W40 almost always since I've had both my CRXs. Crower recommends a non-synthetic, 20W50 for use with the cam in "high-performance" application. I am fine with that, but will I have startup oil starvation problems in the winter here in arctic NY? I'm still somewhat breaking in the motor so I haven't gone to a synthetic yet, but I don't know if I should.

I use the Honda-recommended 5w-30 year-round now...i used to run 10w30 in the summer, but with modern oils I don't know if it really matters as much since they will both resist thinning as they heat up. I personally wouldn't be too crazy about running something as heavy as 20w-50 in the New York winter (or anytime, really), but I am far from an oil expert. I would think running a 10w-30 or something in the winter would be an OK compromise.
