Ive been doing research online for ls/vtecs and Ive started to check out b20vtec.com and digging at h-t.com... :edit: Made it less rant like...

I just wanted to basicly say, this place is so much easier to understand. Its simple here, everywhere else its like Ive walked in to a room of people yelling answers at everything.

People are much to protective about their information. Some claiming it to me "professional trade secrets" while in actuality it makes them look like a retard when you find out how simple it usually is. Some just because they want to look cool and it's probably the only thing they know in life.

BTW: I think your best bet is an LS/vtec. I drove a VR0vtec once in a civic coupe, and altho it had awesome torque, vtec was lacking, and top-range was non-existent. It was however a fckn beast when he supercharged that sucker.

I like Honda-Tech a lot...I lurk there all the time, though I don't post that often. This site is really, really great for a sense of community and a great place to sit and BS with some other CRX owners...Honda-Tech is just an absolute wealth of information -- the search feature can bring up the answers to damn near any question you would want to find out the answer to. Sure it can be mean-spirited at times...but I don't go there to hang out, I go there for the incredible tech knowledge base.

This site is where you post your CRX without getting 50 people picking it apart, where you can debate a topic without things degrading to personal insults. where you can post a "dumb" question and get the answer without getting flamed like mad for even having the nerve to ask.

Honda-Tech is where you go to read a page full of links on some bit of absolutely esoteric Honda information, where you go to ask a question that nobody else seems to be able to answer (and get a handful of answers inside an hour)...and it's REALLY good for that purpose.

Honda-tech is good for getting info, As there are people over there like droppedcrxsi and the logs of KRX's, but the search over there sucks, I type in boost (mild example) I get like 3 results when I know theres more than that. Awhile back I tried looking for a post, "Budget EF Turbo Build" Or something, it was a project log of a turbo D, and I ended up digging through the pages because the search wouldnt bring it up. But yes, honda-tech is good for the tech. Its not so "Mad JDM" anymore...they were really bad for not even looking at a car if it didnt have a jdm piece to it. Not that I have ANYTHINg against JDM, its just it was pretty bad...

And Seti, your right, people dont want to share info in someplaces, info that would be greatly apprcatied buy others. Some are assholes about it.
Yeah Ill be going b18, next spring if my plans work out. B20vtec has some info before the BS on just any general LS. At least from what I saw this morning.
I think Im gonna have to dig through the BS reguardless.
I have found that the ls/vtec setup that Compsimo posted is a really good setup. The B16 head, GSR block, LS/CRV crank, LS Rods, B16 Pistons is probably what Im going to go with except maybe JDM b16 pistons and/or 2-1 layer headgasket as Im at 2680ft in the appalachian mountains and it significantly lowers the static compression. But then the jdm b16 slugs and thinner headgasket maybe pushing the envelop a little to far if I decide to slap a Jackson charger on it. They make a alot of heat unless they've been worked by Endyne

Seti, you wouldnt happen to know his dyno or numbers would you? A supercharged LS/vtec is exactly what Ive been looking up.

Ive been using the hell out of http://www.zealautowerks.com/

Searching just topic titles is fine for something like "boost", you just need to search archived content (which isn't selected by default) so that you are searching much, much further back in the past. If you're searching for something a lot more obscure, you can change the option from just searching topic titles to searching post bodies, then you will get many times more results as well. The search doesn't suck, you just have to read the page and know what you're doing...if you just leave all the options at their default settings you won't get nearly as many results as you could be getting.
