Cars damaged by vandals

A 16-year-old boy who recently bought two cars found one flipped upside down and another with bullet holes in the windshield.

Police took the property damage report Friday night at 24068 534th Avenue in rural Austin. A 1991 Honda CRX was upside down and a 1988 Honda CRX had been shot four times with small ammunition from a shotgun, Chief Paul Philipp said. The boy had paid $200 for both cars.

Police spoke with three suspects. A 19-year-old man eventually admitted to flipping one car for parts and shooting the other one.

Philipp said the victim would get an estimate for repairs and the other man would paid for it. No criminal charges are expected.

Man... I would be livid if someone did that to even one of my cars. I don't even know what to say. All I can hope is that these $200 cars were just for parts and not actual functioning CRX's.

You would think that they would charge the 19 yr old for *something*. Even though he has agreed to pay the damages, he still discharged a firearm at someone else's property in a residential area. That's crazy!

in northern virginia youd be in jail with a quickness if you vandalized two cars and shot one of them any where near someones house.

The import scene here is growing all the time.

Yep. Even on the GM Tech Center lots, we don't get keyed anymore!

(Although, that's prolly because we have to park in the boonies. GM just made a rule that the lots close to the building are for GM products only, so everyone else is DRIVING past our cars, not walking with their keys out. :evil: )
