Hey everyone, hows it going?
well its tax season, and Uncle Sam should be kicking down here pretty soon. I have finally won my battle with my wife, and she now understands that since I am paying for her 01 rodeo that she rides around in.. then its about damn time that I get to put some money into MY car!!!
My suspension is shot, I need tires.. and I need to get some major brake work done.
I think I have a pretty good grip on what it is Im going to be doing.. however I am stuck on a few things.
Im looking to purchase new tires for my hatch. I have a brand new set of 17's still in the boxes in my closet... been there for 3 years! im going to finally get some rubber and put them on my car (yeah I know the argument... they are still going on) So my question is.. youre looking for some 205/40/17's you have $350-$400 tops to spend including mounting and balancing... what tires do you buy?
So far.. Ive found a set of Nitto "neo gens" that I can get mounted and balanced for just about $360
are Neo Gens worth a poo?
I need a street tire that will hold up, but still be "sticky" enough for spirited driving.. My current tires are such a hard compund.. they have held up for many many miles.. but they suck for spirited driving.. im looking for a happy medium.. i will sacrifice tire life span.. over performance.
Also.. I have settled on "Tokico Illumina's" for the shocks im getting.. adjustible, and within my budget.. Im having trouble however with choosing springs.
one the one hand, I could get the illuminas, and some matched drop spings.. which I think should give me a decent ride.. but then I have no control over ride height.. I dont want to be "slammed" on the ground..
So that leaves me with adjustible coil-overs.. but which ones? I have been eyeing the skunk2 coil-overs.. anyone else have suggestions?
thanks in advance for the advice/ help
