Looks like we just went over 2000 users today! And in just under two years!

Earlier this week I was talking about my new car with the CEO of the company I work for (small company) . He said "now you're riding in style." (My new Acura TL, as compared to the CRX.) I told him I'd STILL rather be driving a CRX. He looked at me weird and it started a good conversation about rexes. I told him I started this site a couple years ago and we have almost 2000 users on it. He said "I didn't know there was such a big following for the CRX." :lol:

Then I went on to tell him some of the things I love about the car. It's definitely a passion. These cars fit me so much better than the TL. But the TL fits my family so much better, and that's what I have to do for now. I'll be back in a CRX again. I have been in a rex for the last 10 years. I don't expect to be rexless for too long.

That's awesome, I know I'm a new face around here, but the more CRX fans we've got the more collective knowledge we have too. Can we start one-offing rust free unibodies with a crack team of CRX Community users by 2010? :twisted:

If we got an active street-team campaign going on too, we could have even more members. I'll be working on that shortly with the business cards. I'm half tempted to spend some free time designing a poster for us to print on 8.5x11.

I remember the day when I got the email from crxfisher about his new forum. March 4th, 2005. It was exactly the same day I got banned from the other site (that we do not speak of) for questioning why members were no longer allowed to send PMs to each other.

I signed up over here, and haven't looked back. I volunteered right away to be a moderator for the classifieds forums and helped write some of the original guidelines for the forums. If I recall correctly, the original mods on here were crxfisher, ollie, toxiclows, kain, chet90si, Jeff, krix and myself (correct me if I'm wrong).

And on Jan 15th 2006, based entirely upon my massive post count (inside joke), crxfisher made me an admin. With the ever increasing user base, it was necessary to share the work load a bit so that we could continue to improve the site. Plus, he needed someone to add all those fancy smilies to the site. :rockin:

crxfisher...I bet you never imagined this level of success when you started the forum, hey?

Anyway, I've only been here about a year, and obviously I spend way too much time here. This is by far my favourite site, it's my homepage and how I kill my idle time. It's great to have seen it grown, there have been tons of new members in the last few months who are contributing regularly. And I don't know if anyone has checked out the EF/CRX forum on Honda Tech lately... but it's sucking bad, looks like we're taking all the good users.

I definitely never thought it would grow to this. There's a lot of EF'n people on here!:lol: I remember the first few weeks, putting in all the hard work on a forum that I was so sure would flop. I was just unhappy with the other site (which at the time I believed was THE only real CRX site out there) and I figured I knew what made a great forum, and how a real admin should behave. I've always had the attitude that an admin should have no attitude. No ego to fulfill. There's nothing special about me. You all are the ones who contribute so much to make this site great. Thanks for the great times and great conversations. I've learned a lot from you guys. If it wasn't for Stick, I might not have changed my own timing belt and water pump. And now that I've done it, it's no big deal. Thanks guys. And I'm already looking out for CRX #5. If anybody has one they would like to donate....

Yes, i did mean hail, i fixed it.

I know of a 88 si up in rhode island. Dont have a price and havent seen the car but was told it had normal rust in quarters. Just throwing it out there. He seemed like a really cool guy though.
