As you can tell, this is my first post on this site. I just bought my first CRX (picture attached) that will be used for daily driving and Autocrossing. Before I can drive the CRX, I need to figure out a wiring issue that is causing the parking lights to pop their fuse.

When I pulled the front lens, I realized that the previous owner hacked up the wiring and I was hoping that someone here could tell me the wire color for the parking light circuit and turn signal circuit. Once I get the wire colors I can start tracing wires back to the fuse block.

Also does anyone know which color wire from the headlight switch controls the parking light circuit?

I have a wiring diagram on order, but it'll be a couple weeks until I receive it.

The turn signal circuit is a bit complicated...since it involves a few splices. Here are some of the components: the turn signal switch, hazard switch, dash indicator lights, jumper connector, the integrated control unit, and the turn signal lights.

Here's some colour scheme info to help you out:

From Dash Fush box to Turn signal switch: Green with red stripe
From Turn signal switch to left front signal: Green with blue stripe
From Turn signal switch to right front signal: Green with yellow stripe

Parking Lights (from dash fuse box to the parking lights): Red with black stripe.

Thanks...

I also printed off the diagrams from the "Online CRX shop manual, European Edition" thread.

So with this info, I should be able to figure out the mess.
im happy to see my find helped someone out :) good luck with that wiring. it is my least favourite thing to do on a car.

your car looks nice and clean (other than the one fender, but that is easily painted), congrats on a good buy. hopefully the previous owner only hacked up the wiring and didnt abuse the rest of the car with amateur repairs

the part about that fender gets me. . . why is it primered? was the car hit there? ? / I am guessing that you have a pinched wire somewhere under there if it was smashed up a little. .. . . . at least that was my first thought when i seen that fender on there. .

Good luck. . . . wiring stinks. .

The car wasn't hit. The previous owner said that the fenders were beat up, so he replaced them. There were no pinched wires, which was my first thought also. After checking the wires out last night, I decided that I'll rewire the parking light circuit.

Basically, one of the power leads must be touching ground. Is this the only circuit that is acting weird? Does it still pop a fuse if the bulbs are out?
I removed all the bulbs, popped the fuse ... I traced all of the wires underneath the hood and dash and everything looked fine.

I disconnected the hot wire from the bulbs and ran a test circuit with an inline fuse, connected into the Red\Green wire from the headlight switch and everything work as advertised. So, I'm going to run a new circuit and not worry about the old hacked wires.
