Where should I start looking for a1 pistons for my d16, and perhaps forged rods?

Alternatively, if I wanted to add forced induction to my future y8 mini-me, what kind of pistons should i go with?

Thanks.

I'd go with forged pistons if you are thinking of boosting. Another thing to consider is to go with stock sized pistons to keep the compression down for boost. It's not needed, however it will be more forgiving when tuning. Stock A1 pistons are still available from Acura, and came in the 88-89 tegs.

Dude... A1 pistons in a Y8 mini-me, and FI!? That's crazy. You're already going to have at least 12:1 compression, and then boost on top of it? You should decide whether you want to go FI or NA now, that will make the decision for you. You can get new A1 pistons from Honda for about 40 bucks apiece, or find a 88-89 teg at the junkyard. They are marked either PM7 or P29, both are the same.

People, please, learn to read!
I said "alternatively" meaning: as an alternative to...

I'd never use a1 pistons on a forced induction. I'm contemplating going with a1 pistons and forged rods with my mini-me swap.
THen in the future I'd pull it apart, put forged dished pistons in or something and add the forced induction.

So I'm asking about advice on where to find parts for each, exclusively. And what brands are good if i'm going with say forged rods and pistons.

Sheesh!
Hahaha.

Thanks guys.

Alright, who sells good aftermarket internals?

Since I've never worked on a honda motor before, and I LOVE projects the general plan is to build a solid mini-me high compression NA motor and see what I can get out of it. THen after a couple years or so of tearing around in it, and learning all about the detail of forced induction, and working on my 64 chevy , I'll start looking into getting parts to build the turbo setup. Then some day later maybe I'll look into dohc.
I've got just about everything I need for the mini-me swap but i'm waiting until after i move out to california and get settled since i need to drive my car cross country.

Forged pistons and rods are only really needed if you are planing on going BIG horsepower. I have had my D16Y7 turbocharged at 7psi for almost one year and it runs like a top. Absolutely bone stock engine with 34K original miles. It is making 195 HP and 175 lb/ft which is more than enough on a light weight HF to spank a whole bunch of cars on the road.
