I have been interested in putting Energy Suspension polyurethane engine mount inserts. Does the car rattle around a ton more? I want it to be comfortable but stiffer. Im sure if thats possible but I would like to find a nice median. Any suggestions would be great.

devin:It may be that you will have to "endure" a little harsher ride to get that slot car handling.
Its actually a trade off comfort for handling.

I have heard from somewhere that drilling a few precisely placed holes in the poly allows some give.
Disclaimer:Mind you be VERY CAREFUL so that you dont grind away too much material and ruin the bushing you just laid down hard cash for!
I dont remember where I heard this from but that kind of useless knowledge just sticks to my brain like peanut butter to a dogs mouth.

Here's an idea I picked up when I was looking around for options to stiffen up the front and rear motor mount. Most people will tell you to get inserts or fill the motor mount with 3M window weld. Neither of these options give you much control over just *how stiff* the motor mount will be. Another option is to get a bunch of heating hose in 3/8" and 5/8" and cut off small sections and squish them and stuff them into the spaces in the motor mount (between the rubber). You can put in as many or as few pieces as you like in order to adjust the stiffness of the design. It's a cheap and adjustable alternative to inserts or 3M window weld.
