We were working on the dirt track car tonight my friend was finishing up the cage and i was doing wiring... What I have is a switch panel with a push button starter switch on it and a 2 pole toggle switch what I want to do is...

Lose the ignition switch and flip a switch on for ignition power and then push the button to fire the starter... I got a vague wiring diagram out of the factory svc. manual but was wondered if anyone had actually done this and could give me some pointers on the wiring..

I dont really even care about the accessory position..... i just want to power up the electronics of the car and then have a push button starter.... Im out in the garage now and was going to start it but thought i would grab a sub and a beer and sit at my bench on this forum

Ill wait to see if anyone has any good advice before i get into it. .

Thanks
Chris

If your racing the car,it sounds good to me toxic.
Most guys that oval track by me use a similar setup. No key just a contact switch(as a redundant safety measure),and a push button momentary contact switch for actual start-up.
Both ideas are really simple to wire up.

those are all of the stock wires that were on the ignition switch to begin with.... in essence all i did was change the switch to a different style... i am running through all the stock wiring so yeah the stock relay is still in use..
