We own a parts store in NY and we have had several kids in the store who currently drive a CRX or Civic or various other Honda cars and they are all whipped up about the 2007 CRX, I have looked around on sites but I don't see anything other than a "surprise car in 07"

Let me know... :?:

autoweek mentioned a 2007 CRX in an article a few months back about the new civic Si. don't know how true that is or not...

my guess is there will be no crx in the future. i'm guessing a possible 2 door sportier version of the Fit is more likely.

i know that dealers aren't the best source for info, but I came across one who works at a local one here who is very big into racing, (david hobbs honda), and he mentioned something of the type r coming to the states along with another version dubbed the rr, (possibly and acura brand), no crx mention, though.

I'm sure we've all seen the photoshopped 06 Si made to look like a crx. I don't believe it'll happen. Why would they? Look at what it is, and what it offers. They have a two seater = S2K. They have an econobox = Fit. They have performance = Civic Si. For what purpose would they bring it back? And don't get me wrong, I would love to see one again some day.

If by a new CRX you mean a return to the Original CRX (the 84-87 1st Gen) concept then there is an outside chance that it will get built.

The orginal CRX was a quick and cheap way for Honda to turn out a high MPG two seat commuter that sipped gas. Performance was not in the orginal design. It took some late night fiddling by the boys in the back shop to turn out a D16 powered stormer. Corporate was concentrating on the Integra as the performance option for the EA platform.

The new Fit/Jazz uses a very similar platform as the orginal CRX (struts up front supporting a 1.5 litre engine with a live axle rear) so I do not see much effort to turn out a two coupe that could be marketed as a two seater.

It will then be up to the enthusiast market to turn that Fit/Jazz "CRX" into a performer. Honda already has "performance" products but a gas-sipping coupe could be a cheap replacement for the low volume Insight.

I agree.

This was also the case with the last version of the NSX type-R. (altho I'd sell a kidney to own one)
The folks at Top Gear were complaining and nagging about the over engineerd NSX. The specifications stated that they shaved a couple of grams off the rearview mirror. ANd that they used some alloy weave as a ahifter boot.

And while that's all good and well... that's probably a sign that you should start designing something new instead of regurgitating an old design 3 times.

I saw something in a "rumors" column of some auto magazine recently...may have been in Road & Track or Sport Compact Car or something. I'll believe it when I see it, those rumors are pretty constant. In any case, it would have to be a hell of a lot better than it probably WILL be for me to buy one. For what a new one would cost, I could build a helluva second-gen.

EDIT by stickershop: Ok, that's totally inappropriate. If you can't play nice, please keep it to yourself
