You may get few replies to this.

You have to figure some ppl are weary of posting details of what they have and how much $ they dropped on it.
It's really a vague question... are you talking about engine only, or the whole car? There's a sticky in this section with approximate costs of the various motor swaps, that may help to get you started.
Yeah really cant give you a cash amt on my setup as I have changed it a couple times and have owned the car for almost 10 years now. I can tell you it though it always pays off to have a plan and stick to it and always try to do most of the work yourself.

I assumed he was talking about motor setups.

Well you have a budget but another thing that you need to figure out is
what you actually want from your car.
What are your goals for it before you decide on a "setup".

dayum! well with that and an imagination there's a helluvalotta stuff you could do / have done. Like the others said, if you need direction, first you need to find a start point. Even if you redo the whole car inside and out, you have to start somewhere. I think it'd be better to do a few things at a time, rather than tackle everything at once.

What do you want the car to be - a showcar, drag, autocross, road race, a sick daily driver?? ....on and on.
fully forged b16 supercharged, No2

there you go a fast car with extra left over not much but some

or this to :D you will have a QUICK!! car for the money.

if you have any left over go for full exhaust, cai, maybe a intake mani., throttle body, header. just basic bolt ons.

Very stupid question on my part. What does LSD stand for and what is the benefit of an LSD other than cable. I too am looking into a motor swap.

Thanks

LSD stands for Limited Slip Differential. See your cars differential is where the power going into the transmission gets translated finally to the drive shafts. Differentials have play beucase of torque. a normal differential has a lower torque rating than a limited slip meaning that with an LSD you can pass more torque from your engine directly to the wheels faster. (this is my interpretation please correct what i have wrong as i am sure i have something not quite right)
ya i got in a pretty bad wreck, sued and got like 9000 so im fixing up my crx. i was gonna do a complete overhaul, starting with a new engine.
0Lysurgic acid--- oh wait!

An LSD (Limited Slip Differential) is a different type of diff that keeps one wheel from spinning when it has less traction like your stock one does (hence the name).
If the CRX needs to be fixed (was it in the accident?) I would factor that cost in. Before you look at crazy motor setups, do you have an alternative mode of transportation while the CRX is out of commision?
Also, like stated above, what is your end goal of the car?

I have a 91 HF, the engine was beat and slooowwww. I looked at the different engines available and choose the K simply because the stock swap tripled my hp and tq  and it responds to bolt-ons more than a B or H. Not to mention it is a new motor, I could do a carfax on the motor and know how many miles were on it (unlike the mad tight JDM stuff y0), and I know it will perform like a beast in the CRX for the next 150,000 miles with regular maintenance...but you cannot just look at the power, the rest of the car needs to perform as well to cope with the new power and change in weight bias.
So, look at your options, but factor in the cost of new suspension and brakes.
$9000 is more than enough to do a K swap with suspension and brakes. I spent less than that, and I added a lot of stuff too.
Don't forget to factor in labor if it is needed. If you need to go to a shop for install, call around and see what quotes you can get for different swaps.
I say boosted D, and when it blows, go K 8)
