Ok guys, I have the money for the complete suspension upgrade. First is going to be the shocks and springs. I'm getting the Ground Control coil overs. Which shock do you guys recommend to match? I can't afford Koni yellows and for he driving I'm doing I don't need them.

I need your input asap if at all possible. The person I talked to said the Tokico HP's are a good shock, but I thought they weren't much more than stock. I want a little performance. And does anyone have any good links or resources to buy the set up.

Thanks
BP

not tokico HPs for sure. are you getting the standard spring rate ground controls? if you get the nomral ones you cna get away with using an illumina/AGX.

I was going to stick with the standard spring rate. For normal everyday driving with some mountain curves and playing around which shock, the AGX or Illuminas?

Thanks again

HPs are an upgrade from stock, but they're not as good as Illuminas or AGXs.
I dont really think they are.....a new HP vs a new monroe, gabriel, OEM honda.....i think they are equivalent.

Tokico support told me they ar eonly rated for use with stock springs.

Cool, I'll go with the AGX's then. I'll remember to swap the front and rear springs. Is there anything else I should know before I dive into the install? I have a disc brake conversion I'm going to do at the same time. I'm also looking for a couple good sway bars. My brother told me I need a bigger (mm) one in the back. No more than 3 or 4 mm bigger. Is that correct?

I have HPs, and the pamphlet that came with them said the warranty was void if the car is lowered more than 1.5". I take that to mean that aftermarket lowering springs are OK. Maybe I've got some really strong HPs, but stock shocks would definitely not survive 400/300 Skunk2 springs on a 2.5" drop for over 4 years.

I'm not saying they're great, far from it, but they've worked fine for me.

BP,

yeah, like 22mm rear is good....dont upgrade the front. that should be all you need to know. the sus tech rear sway is like $170.
