It was such a nice day today, I couldn't help but play outside with my youngest son (2years old). After swinging on the swingset, kicking a soccer ball around, and playing tag, I asked him what he wanted to do. He said, "Wash you SEE AWW EX" (Wash your CRX, for those that don't get baby talk. lol)

So, I figured this would be a great time to start him on cars. He absolutley loves my Jeep (The Beep) and loves riding in it with no top or doors. So now was a great tim to introduce him to the CRX.

I have had the car since the end of Feb, so I figured it was due for a bath anyhow.

Here's a few pics.

Here's how dirty is was starting out:

First we got to wet the whole car down, and get as much of the heavy dirt off as possible:

Now soap it up really good:

I didn't get many pics during the rinse process. It turned into a "spray daddy instead of the car" moment. I was trying to save the camera. lol

It's hard to believe it shines up like it did.
I still need some decient wheels/tires, and of course some rust repair would be nice too. Maybe if I get ambitious.

Here's out end result.

My new wallpaper:

And a few others:

Oh, and while I was at it, I did a NOS install.
When I first saw this bottle on the shelf at Kwik Fill, all I could think of was Vin Diesel, "NAAWS!" So I had to buy it. lol

Tell me this isn't a happy kid.

As you can see, we didn't do much with the interior. I'm going to vac it and maybe clean/shine that up tomorrow. (Still got nuts everywhere I didn't clean up yet. lol)

Anyhow, do your kids take interest in "Daddy's racecar"?

Actually, I told him he does good work and asked if I had to pay him now. He said, "Yip. You give me a nickel." LAWL

I forgot to add that he does paid lunches too.

But a juice box and some coockies isn't hard to pay out.

The rear quarters look decent on that. I don't remember from before if they had been fixed, but how bad are/were they?
The rear quarters are shot. BAD. I don't know what my magic touch is, but the pics seem to hide the bubbles and patches. lol. It's a bondo-buggy.

As for the two tone, it's growing on me. I'm still up in the air. If I do repaint it, that means bodywork (aka bondo work) so I may jsut drive it til it's ready to die, and then start a serious hint for a Civic Hatch. Then all the kids can come along to the Honda meets.

That's amazing how the pics can hide the imperfections that well.

Hence how if you know how to take a good picture, you can make decent cars look great, and ugly people look decent! (buddy's gf is a photographer/editor)

Unfortunately that's why ebay cars can go for high prices if the pics are just right.

I Dont have a helper... :( , but usually if im washing my car, I do all the cars in the driveway at the same time (My moms 2002 Sunfire, My Dad's 1996 Ford Ranger, My 86 & 88 CRX's), and I usually get my friends to help, and they do their cars as well as my dad is the one with the pressure washer... then we usually have a BBQ.... so friends I guess would be my little helpers... although they're not all that little....
