I'm going in for a brake and light inspection and because of this I've changed pretty much every light housing on my car. I'm replacing the brake pads all the way around, but there was one thing I was wondering.

The rotors have to be within a certain thickness all the way around.

Does anyone know the parameters that the rotors have to meet on an '88 CRX HF? Thank you very much!

Most rotors I've seen have the minimum thickness written on them...

...but a quick check to the factory manuals says:

Standard: 19mm
Max. Refinishing Limit: 17mm
Max. change in thickness at any point on rotor: .015 mm

Those numbers are for dx and si. The hf does not have front vented rotors so they are much thinner - somewhere around 10mm.

Joel, what's the fsm say?

That 19mm/ 17mm is straight from the copy of the FSM's ('90 Civic Coupe CRX) that I have. It only has one spec on the rotors (and no rear drum section), so I'm assuming it pertains only to the Si, SiR, etc.

My '88 FSM says 17mm/15mm standard/"max refinishing" for the HF disks.
