I posted pics of my bent HX wheel a while back:

I determined that the rim isn't bent, just the lip (which is pretty bad, but drivable). I want to straghten it out before I put my new tires on, and if I have time before the autocross on saturday strip and paint the wheels. I was thinking about banging it out, or maybe even trying to heat it and then bang on it, but I don't know what will happen with cast aluminium. Anybody have any ideas?

Don't know a whole lot on this subject, but I wouldn't risk heating it up too much, as you might warp something that is still straight. I'd just hold off and take it to a rim repair shop. We have a couple here in Cincinnati that specialize in reconditioning and fixing wheels.

One of my best friends is a wheel repair specialist... he has a franchise through www.alloywheelrepair.com. Check out thier site, and find a repair guy near you. Most of them are mobile, and will come to you and fix it on the spot. Its good stuff :)
