Okay i had 2 12inch woofers in a bandpass in my car.. took up way too much space so im looking for ideas for custom enclosures for 8 to 10 inch woofers. Im looking for something non obtrusive that takes up little to no extra room, i work on computers so i need the space for hauling systems around. so any ideas would be great my thoughs so far were 8's behind the seats in "truck boxes" making custom boxes to go behind the wheel wells in the back or creating a custom enclosure in the spare tire hold.. but im really looking for ideas and shots of installs to help me figure out exactly what i want to do

This is my friend's install in his 93 EG hatch.......wheel well install........same principal

Then there is mine. The battery and cap are in the side pockets of the rear area, the amp is mounted on a custom rack in the spare tire well, and the enclosure contains the 13" sub and rear mids as well.

For a smaller speaker like a pair of 10's or 8's, I would possibly mount the amp in the tire well (as long as there are no leaks in the car) and a sub in each "pocket" on either side of the spare tire well. You should be able to conceal the amp, use the cardboard cover to go over it, and lay your carpet over it. You could almost conceal the whole thing and still have 90% of your trunk space available.

Good luck!

I don't recommend covering an amp, especially with an insulator like carpet. It will overheat and turn itself off.

I don't really have any ideas to contribute to your thread though. I'm in the same situation almost, I have a bandpass box taking up too much space right now, and I want something different. I think I'll end up with a 10W6 in a custom truck box that will fit with a rear strut bar.
