Anyone have pictures of their B47M (Superior Blue Metallic) CRXs out there? My jams are still this color, and I'm thinking when I repaint the car it will be to the stock color so everything matches. I'm fairly certain you could only get this blue on DX/HF models, not on an Si. Any pictures would be greatly appreciated. I have the Wings West Mugen knock off kit, so I'm trying to imagine how that will look.

The reason I ask is because looking at paint chips it looks a lot different than the color in my jams. I want to see what B47M is SUPPOSED to look like, not what 18 year old door jams look like in that color!

your door jams are pretty close to the stock color. They don't get the fading that the rest of the car did. You could probably have the paint matched to them. I've thought of painting my car this color to be a bit stealth, people would think it was an HF, but be all confused by the SI badging, sunroof, and interior.

The problem with that is the average person has no clue about the difference and the true rexer would easily see that it's just a repaint.

And as the owner of a Superior Blue Metallic DX, I can say with conviction that seeing an Si in the same color would SURELY make me want to kick you...

(or knock you out, switch keys, plates and VIN tags and drive off in yours :twisted: )

You could always paint it Y-49, and really bring the wrath down upon you.... :lol:

I'm all for oem restorations, but there is definitely something sexy about a clean paint job in a color that you've not really ever seen on another CRX... especially if the rest of the car is clean to go along with it.

I can honestly say after seeing ^^^^ those pics, that...

The Superior Blue looks decent on a CRX if its NOT all solid color... translation: don't paint over the black trim. That trim helps break up the color and add some definition to an otherwise slightly boring color.

Body-color mirrors, OK. Whole car monochrome in metallic "baby" blue. Not OK. Maybe with a Mugen kit, but not the stock body.
