Would there be much interest in having a section for tech articles? Most of my CRX knowledge has come from others, but I would be willing to compile some of that info into a few nice organized how-tos, maybe even with some pretty pictures.

I think it would be a great idea to have a permanent location for technical articles. This way we do have to keep answering the same questions over and over. We can just answer it once, and then improve upon the answer over time as needed.

Yes, we definitely need some tech articles. If anybody has ideas and would like to write some up, please do. Take some pics, document everything, and write it up. Then send it to me or any of the other moderators. We will get it edited, and I'll start working on a layout for the articles.

Super great idea... everything from b series swaps to the simple stuff..
I found myself wondering all over the net the other night.. . when putting mini me back together to find out the firing order... I could not remember which side was number one.. . .it would be great to have all of that grouped into one place.

Yeah, if we can come up with a standard layout, everyone can use that as a template to work from. Anything we can do to make it easier for people to contribute

I'll just have to remember to take pictures while I'm working on stuff next time. I always forget to do that!

Ditto. Just replaced axles last weekend. Did I take pics? Not even one. I have a timing belt replacement coming up. It will be my first time. It's going to be stressful enough just doing it. Maybe if someone knowledgeable could show up and help out....

I have the b16 parts list from the resource. 88DXCRX wrote up a few years ago. Ive added some stuff to it over the course of my B16 travels. we could update/add to it to get it fresh and put that here. I am not trying to take credit for it so i would like to make sure that 88DXCRX from the resource is given his credit

Thankfully, I've been taking some pictures of my B16 build that's likely to be completed within a month or so. What steps I don't have pictures for I can illustrate. I have documented every single part and tool I have needed/used so far along with prices and where they were purchased. I've also been keeping track of my progress and the numerous setbacks. This can be added to Krix's list later, or it can stand as it's own article.

BTW Krix, maybe we should pool our experiences with rebuilding seat foam for an article. I will likely be reupholstering my seats sometime soon, and I can get some pics of the seats without the covers for an after pic. Or, if Stickershop is seriously thinking about doing this then maybe we can convince him to take some pics of the process(hint hint  )

It might not be the first issue that I tackle. But whatever I work on next, I'll definitely take pics and document.

Links are defintely helpful. However, if we can somehow "massage" the articles into our own content, then that would be ideal. If those other sites go down, the knowledge is lost.

Make sure all credit is given where it's due. Don't simply copy an existing article and re-word it and take credit. Get permission from whoever actually wrote it in the first place. If it came from the Resource, then it is most likely Steve's property, and illegal to post it elsewhere. Don't get me into legal trouble please. Of course maybe if you ask nicely, Steve will let you use it.

things like ecu codes, and the pin locations for various swaps would be helpful. which ecu comes from what car, and which swap uses what ecu etc...i dont think it ever ends.

BTW if someone wants to fund it ill use my rex as a guinea pig for a K series. full write up pics and all.

Yeah, right. I'm sure he would be more than happy to let us use his info, or anything else from his site, like users maybe:wink:

Back from the dead...

Anyway, I would like to get a section for tech articles. Every time I undertake a project on my car, my bike, my friend's car, my living room, whatever, I make an article. There are a few hosted on the Resource, and I've posted some on Honda Tech as well. I always get a lot of positive feedback, and I know I like reading other people's articles when I'm doing a big job. It's nice to have them stickied or whatever, but really it's a lot asier when it's not a post in a forum, when there's a separate articles section. People don't have to search through the forums and are more likely to find what they need. I'd really like to see an articles section. That's actually one of the reasons I like the resource, you can just click articles and see all the write-ups for each branch of CRX stuff - Performance, Maintenance, Rebuilding, etc.
