So, I've done some searching and i'm getting conflicting information on the subject of the back seat. Is there a USDM CRX that came with a stock back seat? Some seem to say yes, others no. I know the JDM crx at least in some cases had one, and possibly the EDM. I want one for my Rex (flame if you like, I think they're pretty cool! :)), but the price on theJDM ones is pretty dagone high, like on the order of $3-400 shipped. So, is there such thing as a USDM back seat?

What about the Canadian CRX? Did they have a hatch area like the US one, or did they have a seat?

Seti - I may have to take you up on that offer. I've got a buddy who sometimes goes to Japan and may be able to pick up a seat from one of their used parts stores, but I'm not sure when he's going back.

Why do people want the back seat in a CRX? Do people in Europe and Japan want the US storage bin?
First, I have kids and on the off chance that both other cars would break down at the same time I'd like the reassurance that I could, if necessary, take them where they need to go. Plus, I think the back seat with the cargo cover makes the rear of the Rex look really clean. Finally, pretty much no one has it, so it would be cool to have something no one else has in their car. I'm not worried about weight issues or chassis stiffening with bracing or anything, so the seat won't cause problems there. For my personal application, the back seat makes sense, but I can certainly understand how most CRX owners would rather not have it.

I have one and took it out. They are useless unless you are in the business of moving dwarfs around. Even my 7 year old complained there was no room.
Interested in selling it?

The stock USDM cargo cover doesn't work with a back seat.
Right, but the JDM one does. :D

Plus wouldent that wreck the storage compartments?
You have to take the storage compartment out. I have seat belts for it too. Don't know if what I have was some Kludge that someone fit in, or EDM JDM stock. Whatever, there is no room in the back for a human.

Ioxos, let me go up in my attic, and send you a pic and you can decide if you want to offer me something for it.

ive always wanted a rear seat. Mostly for the looks of it, i think it looks real sharp. But every once in a while i have to stuff some unlucky individual in the back on the cargo box. At least they could have the slight comfort of a cushion to make it not so bad.

At one time i had six people including myself in the crx

not safe the least bit but i had to do it

To answer an earlier question, yes, those "other" countries do want the cargo trays. I have done exactly 2 "swaps" with a friend in Scotland. And SHIPPING costs are the killer. Your best bet is to find someone with a business that can ship things through their account. It's a bit cheaper than just wandering into the UPS store and sayin, "here go!"
