You got it... If you'd like to understand that further in detail, just visit Japan. There it is refered to as the Honda Integra.

Almost all Honda's have some similar styling aspects. It's a smart marketing move on their part. You could look at almost any badgeless Honda and instictively know that it's a Honda.

Aspects of the CRX have been incorporated into some of the newer cars. I have no doubt in my mind about that. However, the CRX platform itself has not yet been continued. The RSX is not a CRX. It just the latest version of the Integra with a few styling aspects that are vaguely similar to a CRX.

the recent "luxury boom" in japan has lead to both honda and toyota to consider releasing their luxury monicurs in japan.. toyota has already confirmed the introduction of lexus in japan in either late 07 or early 08. And although no confirmation exists honda is aparently planning on doing the same.

My roommate has an 03 Type S, black, and of course I have a 90 Black Si. They do look kind of similar, but that's where the similarities stop. The RSX is pudgy, sloppy, and quiet. It's really a luxury car, not a sports car. The only way you can get the 6 speed and the better motor is to take all the extra weight in power options, sound system, and leather. And pulling to 8000 RPM doesn't sound fun at all. The CRX, in contrast, is a raw, visceral drive. The only power thing you get is the roof (if you have an Si). Creature comforts are a minimum. You feel every pebble in the road, making steering more precise, and also you're sitting a lot lower, and can see all around you very easily, the dash isn't a visual obstruction. And taking an A6 up to 7000 RPM can blow your eardrums out.

I think the Fit is the CRX of our time.

The look isn't anything near, but the tunability is reminiscent of the CRX.

I would like to test drive one.

Course we will never have a "CRX" again.
Maybe the Lotus Elise is the closest thing.

My roommate has a RSX...it's a cool car, and I would drive one -- but a CRX it ain't. First and foremost, it's not a tiny 2-seater, and that's the pure ESSENCE of a CRX. It's a lot more like my old 91 Integra, a roomier car with lots more "luxury" type options, a little more refined (which makes for a more comfortable car, but also kills off part of the charm for people like us). I do think Honda could do great things using the Insight platform to create a high-performance 2-seater, but I don't think it will ever happen...and to tell you the truth, while it would be a great little car if they did it right, it STILL wouldn't be a CRX. That era is gone, the days of no airbags, no power steering, no side impact beams...and the list goes on and on.

This is far fetched and quite simple. I just wish the 88-91 style would just go back onto the production line. No need to change anything at all. What makes the crx a crx is what it has always been in the past... I like it for what it is plain and simple, no need to change anything. But then again what makes the car so special is that the dynasty ended 15 years ago and it leaves something to be much desired....

Seen it, and IMO they can keep it. That rear spoiler and the taillights on the concept version are gross, and what are they saying about giving it 197hp? Doesnt the Si theyre making over here have 200? Theres probably going to be a noticeable wieght difference between that car and the Si we have, but Id still expect honda to do a little better than that for a Type R..
