Today was the verdict in a very public lawsuit.

On christmas eve last year, a 20 year old man was beaten to death by 3 men. The trio was harassing the 20 year old's girlfriend as he picked her up at the station. And when he inquired into what was going on, one of the trio, a 23 year old man, beat the victim several times on the temple, and pushed him off the curb.

The 20 year old later died of his injuries.

Because the vicim probably died while his skull impacted the curb, and did not die directly of the head trauma caused by the suspect, the judge found the defendant not guilty of murder.

He was sentenced to 16 months imprisonment with 2 years of probation. Because the defendant had been arrested for assault on 3 previous occasions, one of them while awaiting trial, the judge gave him "a stern telling off" and 2 years of rehabilitation. (psych evaluation basically)

This just after a group of 16-19yr olds were convicted to 2-4 months after beating and gang-raping at least 12 girls their age.

Bet they would have gotten 30 years to life if convicted of publishing a picture of Muhammad with a bomb in his turban (for inciting a riot by whiny illegal aliens and "causing" the deaths of several GENUINE Dutch citizens at the hands of the mob…..)

So is that why they can't have guns over there? Because "guns don't kill people...bullets do."

A dude pulling the trigger wouldn't actually kill a man, but the resulting impact of a bullet piercing his brain would. It's not the dude's fault, it was the bullet.

That's messed up. The dude beat the guy down and killed him. What's up with that?

Haha, there's PLENTY to get up in arms about over here, too...maybe Canada would be a nice place, if you can handle the cold half the year

....since we're now several years down the line, and we ended up moving to Canada.
