My thread "Sad day for the crx" got me thinking about the resource.org. So I decided to take a trip and see who still posts and whatnot. I saw a couple familiar faces, and once I clicked "Featured Crx"....I saw my car....STILL. Its been SO long I can't even remember when I got featured. Every time I go I feel like I just want to click close and not even bother with it. I may be doing too much bashing and I can understand if this gets locked or deleted, but I had one question in mind(be honest no one will kill you):

Who still visits crxresource.org?

I know I can say that I do not anymore. For personal reason-i just dont. I dont hate it at all what-so-ever, but the urge to visit is just not there.

I hope people can be mature about this and not bash/insult/get mad at this or other peoples responses. Im just curious...

In all honesty I had saved their URL in my favorites in IE and I was deleting links I didn't use anymore so I thought I'd pop in to see what/who was there. I must say the posts looked old and can't remember how, but somehow I got linked to the community where I found all of you guys.

I personally have nothing bad to say about the resource (in its heyday) or Steve just that I found it dead-ish when I last visited but the main reason I'm here is cos I found where everybody is these days.

I do like the thought of having the resource calender, especially with JadeRs pic in it, ROFLMAO....

Sorry Jade, I don't know you all that well, but I doubt your going to pose for a resouce calender, lol. Especially with all the BS over there.

I do miss the heyday of the resource.. I found that place probably in late 95 early 96.. that place helped me so much.. But this is where Im at pretty much all the time.. I think one of the main reasons this places has grown so much in just the last few months, is the fact that it feels just like the resource used to. All the old familiar faces are here.. its just like home again.. just a new address!

It was a great place once, but its time has passed. The people are what made it great, and by my count they are all here or on other boards now.

I was honored to be a part of the moderating team there. I tried to be the "Boy Scout" Warrior (see the net adversary thread), and I did the best I could to help people and represent the members there in policy issues with the Admin.

I hope to be prolific with my CRX material again, and be as usefull here as I was there.

Ditto. For some reason, I'm not really as active *anywhere* as I used to be, but I still check in on the Resource a few times a week. It's just too much a part of my CRX life to let it go, I suppose.

I check it mabey once or twice a month these days mostly just for the lack of anything better to do. LOL although I still do have one of the oldschool resource.crx.org stickers still on my car. I remember back in the day when I first joined abaz and cloudpump were still around. boy those were the days. haha its hard to imagine that at 20 you could make yourself feel like an old man.

I've gotten thrown in jail for saying what's on my mind in the past but here goes...

I think one of the reasons why people's accounts are no longer active over there is because many people change their email adresses. When they do they have to reactivate the account through the reactivation email sent to the new email adress. This address however isn't accepted by Resource software so the account now just becomes "stuck." I know I have the vocabulary or even this process I described a bit wrong but something or another to this affect is happening. Then, people just assume they're banned.

Another reason is because they actually got banned. I'm not standing up for or against anyone but remember that most people only like to tell you the good side of their story. There is a no nonsense attitude at the Resource so it's safe to imagine that some people's behavior could've been found to be incongruent with site policy. Even if not that, you can still ban someone that you personally don't like from your site right?

To tell you guys the truth, I loved the CRX Resource. I have over 2 thousand posts over there currently with over another thousand from years passed. And my posts are seldom short and go into alot of detail especially when I'm trying to help someone fix a problem. As much as I tried to do my part in keeping that place alive, there always seemed to be an awkwardness between the staff and the site admin. Honestly, I didn't like it that most of the staff was on a first name basis but Steve rarely adressed us by name, at least not me. If for example I always call a fellow co-worker by name but he NEVER does the same, instead refers to me by my employee I.D. number, there is very little connection there. That's the impersonal uninviting feeling I got. It's not good for business and even worse for keeping forum employees who work for free. And this, is something I will never tell anyone who I already know won't want to listen to it.

Others may not comment but John and myself always told it like it was. On the up side, this place is a great place. It's like the place most of us came from only there's a different name. Home is where the heart is. For the most part, alot of you guys are the ones I remember coming home then going home to see.

I sometimes stop by my old houses here in town and let out a sigh or two. I know where I am now but I don't forget where I came from. And if while sighing someone asks me for a jumpstart, I'll still help.

IMHO I think they are 2 different things. Yet then again ive been away from the resource for a while so its harder for me to see a connection between here and crxresource.

I just like to think that there is the crxresource and crxcommunity as seperate entities-helps me sleep at night

I just don't understand those that visit the Resource "for old times' sake". Let it go. Mke this better than the other place ever was. Tom is doing a pretty good job.
