Timing pointer

Okay, currently I'm waiting for a timing cover from Tom, but i need my car going. I won't bore you w/ the details, this is what I need to know:

Based on any geometry on the pulley system (tensioner, oil, water pump) where is the timing pointer? Anything like "a little to the right of the tensioner bolt" will go a long way please, so help me out! I need her healthy enough to get back home so I can take the pulley off and get the timing cover on.

Thanks,
Ryan

on the block, it should be a little arrow, pointing towards the crank, on the cover, it is a tab. I believe it is to the front of the crank.
IIRC, for the crank and cam shafts, you line up the keyway in each to be perpendicular to the plane of the head, approximately at the 11:00 o'clock position.
there are also 2 marks on the side of the cam pulley, thse line up with the edge of the head, I'm not so sure about the keyways...
