I have an idea to cut a new board for the trunk flooring. The original carpaet doesn't seem to be an exact fit and the plastic board definetly isn't an exact fit. Anyone cut this already to hold a sub? possibly using the space in the sapre tire area below? just looking for an easy way to make a template to cut the board ta match the trunk or any advice at all would be great. Thanks

havent done it for my crx yet but i did it for a geo metro.. the easiest way to do it without headache is to use cardboard or poasterboard to make templates and cut from that measuring 2-3 times before doing any cutting. you need to keep in mind when you do it however that you need to seal all edges up very well and the board needs to be held down tight so that you do not have air leaks, also you will want to dynamat the wheel well and not have your spare down there with the sub installed so that you do not get unneccisary rattles making your bass sound like crap. anyways that is my advice from what i have experianced

I did this years ago. Originally it was for a sub, then I just used it for somthing solid to hold up so it didnt collapse.

I used the factory plastic piece as a template. I used 3/4 plywood, thicker than I needed really. Traced out the design and used a jigsaw to cut it out. I still have the board in my wrecked car, much sturdier than the oem piece, especially if you dont have a spare tire.

I had a 12'' sub mounted in there but the sub was a little too deep. I had to space the board up some, ended up just taking it out, covering the whole and putting carpet over it. I made a small box for a 10'' sub to give me a little boom.
