Is it worth getting a turbo on a stock d16 engine? If so how much would it cost for the turbo and to let a professional install it 4 me. Also can somebody recommend me some turbos that have good reviews. Also how much horsepower will the engine gain just by putting on the turbo?

14B turbo, ebay parts + your stock car = 1000$ turbo setup that is mediocre reliable with about 175whp after a tune.

Don't expect it to last forever tho.

Turbos are costly if you want reliability. You would probably want to rebuild the stock A6 engine. Too be honest, you should be calling performance shops for prices if you aren't installing it yourself.

PS: If you live anywhere near the Toronto Ontario region, PM me and I might be able to help you.

been thinking about that too...

is it safe to run 5-7psi on a stock bottom end and have it reliable? currently my compression is 8.7:1 because it's a d15b2 block and d16a6 head. im not looking to go over 200hp, i just want extra kick on the d.

i also plan on overboaring the block and getting oversized pistons/rings to match before i go turbo.

From what I've heard, 5-7 psi out of a small turbo is safe on the stock D blocks. You won't get anywhere near 200 hp (you'd need closer to 14 psi), but you will get a little extra power.

I run a boosted mini-me that has been boosted on 10 lbs for 2 years problem free now.
STOCK bottom end,Z6 head,14B turbo...

I must stress GOOD engine management! I run a CROME chipped PO6.
You can do a good HMT style boost setup for under 1K..Its do-able.
I spent around a grand, but I opted for all SS charge piping. :D
I'll try and answer any questions if I can for ya.
