Well to start Hello, as this is my first post. Ok, now that we are past that my first problem. On the fuel rail there is a diaphragm on the side the fuel enters the rail, it has a screw in the middle of it. Well I pulled the little plastic cap off it and the screw was out. I screwed it back in a little but I don't know if it has adjustment or not. Does anyone know if has one or do I just screw it in all the way? Second problem, I have a zc motor that under wot it smokes real bad, under any other driving its fine no smoke. I was told to replace the valve stem seals. Has anyone had a problem like this, or does anyone have more possibilities on what it could be. It has about 50,000 mile on it.

yeah just screw it in all of the way till snug? you have the JDM Zc right?

and the smoke its oil, its most likely coming from around the valve seals
but if you rebuild the head and put new valve seals and fix the compression by rebuilding your going to need to rebuild the bottom end because you will get blow by and all that crap if you dont rebuild the bottom end while your rebuilding the top.

so thats my info if anyone has anything else have a snag at it.

Not after doing a head gasket, after replacing valve seals and lapping them. The increased compression has been known to cause the rings to not seal properly in the higher compression now in the cylinders, but there is what as known as blow by. It can often cause the engine to actually run worse, and smoke more.

exactly what they said, if you rebuild the head and use a new oem head gasket, you will have the stock compression, then your bottom is still the stock everything and is weak and your top end will be fresh and all in good shape then you get on it or what not. your bottom end will give out faster then since the top end is new

do you get it or do i need to explane more

well if it only has 50k on it then you might be able to get by with only rebuilding the head.

i just built my motor and i used the same rings on it and a new headgasket and it is working fine no smoke no nothing no problems it runs good but i have a few other mods done to it.

so just try a head job and see what happens you will never know untill you try it. its worth a try.

I really don't see the point in just doing the head. Smoke at WOT is rings, no question. You'll end up wasting money on an extra headgsaket when you have to tear it down and do the rings, trust me, I've been there.

Ah! Okay, I missed the valve seals part. Yeah, I definitely have some blow-by myself (167k on a d15b), although I haven't had to replace the HG or even break down the block at all. I'm just limping mine by until I can get it swapped.

Thanks for the info!
