My buddy's uncle owns a shop where they can do custom fabs and I was wondering on what kind of setup I should go for. First off, this will be my DD and Im going to have to stay within Cali emmisions. I doubt I'll be going for a B series engine...so IM stickin D.

My ideas are 2.25" piping and of course including the cat, muffler, and will I need a resonator? See, I don't now too much about all this, and I want to ensure that I get the sound I like, which is not the ricey-raspy can full of bees sound. but rather the nice quiet, DEEP tone sound. I wont know until its installed, so what brand names may I choose to acheive this sound?

Ive searched this forum as well as HT, to see other people's setups. Ive read about different kinds of piping, welding, straight, bend, and its got me all confused. Basically...what should I tell my installer on how he should build my exhaust? (this is where your input comes in) thanks for the help

if i were you, being its a DD or maybe just cause its the setup id perfer, is a pipe comming down from the headers, right into some sort of high flow cat or maybe just a nice stock one. then id run a straight pipe to the back with minimal bends into a Apex'i World Sport 2 muffler. (found at inlinefour.com for $191.25) all together shouldnt run you more then $275.

Turbo2, cherry bomb, and hi-flow cat with 2" piping FTW
How much does something like that run?
Turbo2= 20
Cherrybomb=26

The rest is a bad estimate b/c I had it done at a muffler shop that ripped me a new one. The cat was a bit over 100, but cheaper then an OEM one, or even OEM type. You can get mandrel bent piping on Summit, and its not too expensive.
