Here are my questions for you guys:
1. Is this a fair price (delivered to my door)
2. How do I tell if its a real VIS hood (I don't see any stickers)?
3. If I decide to swap in a b16/b18/k20, will this hood clear?
4. Other comments/opinions?
I have a VIS ZC hood on my CRX. Near the latch/striker thing on the front there is a sticker/plaque that says VIS, and a warning about only for off-road use and to use hood pins. I don't see anything in that one but it may be removeable.
If it's local, go look at it and see how it fits and stuff. Mine has zero fitment issues, I've heard that the cheaper ones won't line up right.
As far as fitment for a B/K, I can't tell you for sure. It has thinner webbing on the bottom, so that might help. It's also designed for the ZC to fit, what is the size difference between a ZC and a B16?
It looks like a stock hood knock off to me? It bends downward in the middle so, like a stock hood it might be pretty close if you do a b16 conversion and certainly for longer stroked engines like the b20.

black_krix_si, where do you see the badge?
The guy is going to stop by this weekend to show me the hood. I may just pick it up then...
Anyone know wether this hood will work with a b18 or k20?
its right where the hood latch goes then down a little bit. you can see it in the pic, just cant make it out. there is a small badge they rivet to the fiberglass skeleton.
Thanks for the advice guys, I am a proud owner of a VIS zc cf hood now. Its in great shape - one small scratch that looks to be clear coat deep and about the size of a pinky fingernail. The guy delivered it, but would not drop the price, so $300 it is.
The hood is now in line to get installed. Along with a back seat, dc header, mud flaps, and a bored throttle body. But these will go on in between the other more important things, like a timing belt, water pump, cv boot, and a rear brake rebuild.
I love it when I have lots of things to do with the car!
I've been reading that the latch may not be enough to hold down the hood. Do I NEED hood pins?
Seems to be on good. I canot pull it open if I try hard. Probably break the hood first.
Thanks`guys! I am trying to work on some exterior details - touch up paint, black magic, wax. I've had those lights for a while now. I really liked them before. Now I've been having second thoughts, but I think I still like them. Maybe back to stock corners and bumper lights? Has anyone noticed that I have just the front mud flaps on? Does that look wierd, should I put the rear ones on also? http://crxcommunity.com/gallery2.php?g2 ... temId=2809
The hood seems good at speeds. I put in the rubber stoppers from the stock hood (had to drill holes for them). I think that keeps the hood from frexing. Lines up pretty good. Almost as good as stock.
Thanks Ragnaarok!
The "attempted" break-in was painfull. They did not get in because I caught them breaking in. I walked out on a Sunday morning to go to work (at aroun 7am) and saw two strangers walking away from my car. A quick glance at the car revealed a bent sunroof panel. I yelled, "I'll kill you mother fu#$ers" and ran after them. Then I realized that I was acting irrationally and stoped. I did not want to fight two guys with crow bars. Here is the demage from them using the roof as a pry point - http://crxcommunity.com/gallery2.php?g2 ... temId=2488
The sticker on the glovebox came with my shocks or springs, I don't recall. It says something like, "Warning! The suspension of this vehicle has been modified. As a result it may handle differently. Use caution...."
I have heard conflicting stories, some say you need the "bumped" Zc hood for clearance of a Zc swap, some say no.
My SOHC Zc clears my US hood fine, or is the Zc hood nessessary only for the DOHC Zc swaps?

The SOHC ZC fits fine because the exterior dimensions are identical to an A6. I've never heard of a problem with a DOHC ZC fitting under a stock hood either. I imagine hood clearance is slimmer with a DOHC, but not like a B18C or H22 or K20 or anything. The bump is probably there partly for extra clearance, but mostly just for style.
anyway the VIS ZC hood don't have the bump under the hood (you need to cut the frame if you want the full acces of the top bump) :?
and the stock hood clear the ZC (little rub inside the hood frame and that it)
