If u gutted out all the inteior and just left the driver's seat how much weight would you lose. And does a carbon fiber hood really weigh that much less for the price u pay. And also wut are some other things i can get rid of to make my 88-91 crx weigh less. Since 1 of the guys i was gonna get a crx from got kicked out of his girlfriends house i dont no if hes still selling his crx. Nor can i even get in touch with him.

It really depends on how livable you want your car to be. Is this a daily driver, or a weekend fun machine?

Depends what year and model your car is for starters. If its an 88 hf its already incredibly light. if its a 91 si then you could lose the a/c, lose the sunroof, put on 89 doors with no beams in them. I'm not sure that cf body panels make that much of a difference, but i'm sure it s very very slight savings. remove the spare tire, relocate the battery, buy lighter and smaller wheels, etc.

List of some stuff to remove:

1. all interior parts + dash and Passenger seat, about around 100 lbs
2. AC, if you get all of it, probably around 40 lbs, maybe more.
3. rear wiper blade and motor - 10 lbs.
4. charc. canister and all other misc. pieces - 10 lbs

those are just off the top of my head. As for the CF hood, yea, the hood is pretty heavy, i have herd thats another 20-25 lbs of the front.while we are on the topic of weight management, jmart had a good idea. you should concider moving the battery to the back of the car, evens the weight out a bit.

no hood!

Dude, just take the doors offf, hatch off, sunroof out (I'm assume its an Si since you've got the d16 in there) and I'm sure you can shove over 100 more lbs!!!

Hahaha, just playin. That is awesome. i should go weight my 89 dx with d16 just to see.

Makes me think... I wonder what mine weighs right now, hehehe. Oh, wait, the same, all the stuff that I took off got tossed in the hatch since I'm running out of storage space :(

i got..go on the subway deit an race naked..or with a gurdle.lol....but on a more serious note you should take out the mechanical parts that u dun need.. like your windows and thr crank to move it up and down. replace your windows with fiberglass. very light and no crank. glass is pretty heavy an fiber glass is very light. take out all your glass and do fiber glass. you can also so things like a lite weight flywheel.. that should take of a couple pounds.

yup its and si
dont even get me started on this whole no hoods thing
you are either for it or agianst it

if i can shed some weight along with running a cooler motor (heat soak / heat build up under the hood while waiting to race) for the turbo at the cost of 4bolts then why not do it ?

Not sure where you're from but you are not required to have a hood in NC. Nor do you have to have a windshield, BUT you DO have to have windshield wipers. We've got crazy laws
