I just want to point out that we got 28 new members today (December 21st). I know a lot of you guys came over from another certain forum, but it's great to see the growth, hopefully you settle in here!

Now what I didn't see is 28 posts in The Lounge with pictures of CRXs and/or projects...

I like to see them, wasn't being negative...

RPR will have more info for you, but I'd like to have some gen1s around here, they are pretty, and I never know when I might stumble on one for a good deal.

I passed up on a good deal for a 86 FI CRX Si. Reason was, needed way to many parts to safety and make look good. It was gonna cost me 300$ for the car, and 1000$ in parts, plus it had 2 cracked plastic fenders and I just didn't even wanna bother sourcing those out.

What's wrong with 1st gens? Are they a POS? I can't find parts and when I look for them, people act like I'm a bastard child with a disease.

Sorry... I really am at square one with knowledge on these cars.
First off, 1st gens are F*N SWEET.

F the haters

1g cr-x's are rare birds and its true parts are tough to come by but its well worth it imo.

Now on to the whoring... r.i.p. my old 86 Si

Thanks to bart for the mass migration of members from the crx/ef section on h-t. In a round-about way, you could say that knightsport is responsible for this sights recent growth

Honestly, I started the same way and I now feel very comfortable working on my CRX, and my other cars. Best advice is to get a good repair manual for a 90 CRX. The Honda mechanics repair manual is the best...maybe someone has a link to online version? It'll be the best investment you make. Also, searching on sites like these will yield tons of results that will help a lot. The more research and work you do on your car, the easier it'll be.

Hi:

I found you guys this afternoon and I'm glad to say I already know I've found a much better place. I've gotten help from h-t before and I'm grateful for it but I don't feel I want to deal with the disrespect and waste-of-time posts over there.

You asked for pictures. Rather than take up space here, I'll send you to cardomain.

These pictures are a couple of years old already. I caved late last year and bought some 16x7 Konig Remembers with 205/45/16R Kumho ECSTAs.

I wanted wider rims and I ummed-and-arred a long time about 15" vs 16". My first prize would have been some OEM 89 (15") Teg mesh rims - I've been looking on e-Bay since the end of '04 for some but never found any. These Konigs are BBS knock-offs but they look pretty decent. The 4-wheel combo weighs a total of about 3 pounds more than the stock rims and tires. They also drive really well - I expected them to make the steering heavier but they're having the opposite effect. I'll post some pictures later.

I've only driven them about 5 miles - once the salt and grit hit the roads here in MN, the rex goes straight into the garage till the city or the first rain washes the streets.

I plan on lowering the car 1-1.5" during the winter - the Konig/Kumho combo is about 1/2" bigger diameter than stock - I wanted to fill the wheel-wells a bit over stock.

BTW, the article posted elsewhere on the wiring tuck was awesome - don't know if I have the courage to do it but I loved the result!

Anyway, I'm happy to be here! Thanks for having me[/img]
