What do we need?

Ok, so what do we need here? I want to see some suggestions. It kind of seems like the site has sort of been fluttering along the last couple weeks. We started off with a bang, and now it's just kind of....there. What's missing? Is it the fact that things have cooled off on other boards and people are returning? Or is this site not providing what is really wanted? What's going on?

I think we need to keep making some of the nice writeups with the pictures. Those will attract new members and keep them coming back for more.

I check in every day also. I don't post that much but then I've always been a little post shy even on the other boards.

I'm not sure this site knows what it is yet (if that makes any sense). You've got the old dogs at the Resource and the rowdy misfits at at HQ. Somewhere in that huge rift between you have us. We can coexist with the other boards, but we have to stand out somehow.

I think we need to give it a little time to find it's focus. For now, lets continue to get the word out and post away!

I dont know about you guys, but my rex is running ok, its off to paint tomorrow and after my exhaust problem everything has been good.

I think its just a matter of members. We need to get our name out there. the resource has members and knowledge, we have more knowledge than members now. More people = more broken cars = more questions.

What was the status with the google thing fisher?
Are there some other ways we can advertise?

I come here everyday.

Honestly, I feel that if the people going to N11 do a good job of sporting our T-shirts, more people wil will come. When everyone sees how cool our shirts are, they'll realize that we have something real going here.

Also, everyone make sure to sport your CRX Community decals!

If I make up a batch of free CRX Community decals, will someone be willing to hand them out at N11?

Heck yeah man! Send em my way and I'll definitely give them out. As long as I don't wreck and die on the 1000-mile trip up there.

Well, we're still not showing up in Google. :x They haven't even hit us yet. We do however show up in Yahoo and MSN searches.

I think the sticker idea is a key to getting the word out there.

I know I have bumped this site on the other boards every chance I get.

I can only get us to show up on Yahoo if I literally type in "CRX Community". While its neat that we are actually up there, no one will find us that way. I know that when my friends and I were looking for online places for our respective cars, we would type in "_____ forum" or "_____ forums".

When I type "CRX forums" into Yahoo I can't get us to show up period. Is there anyway you can change the search queries for the site or anything, b/c if I was a newbie looking for a CRX site, I definately wouldn't have found this one.

I've submitted to the Yahoo directory, the Netscape directory, MSN, Yahoo, Google. If anybody has any good suggestions on how to get listed, let me know.

Also, another good way to get crawled faster is if other sites have links to us. So I guess anywhere appropriate, try to get a link up. If you have a CRX site, please link to us. If you are allowed on other forums to post links, please do.

As for the keywords, I'll have to do some research and find out how I can edit the site to be more search engine friendly.

I agree... we are off to a huge start... Does anyone know anybody who was around when the other boards that are big were started... ??? I wonder how long it took them to catch on and get big.... . We need to hang in there.. . i relly like coming here.. I feel like you are all my good friends... Heck, I am a moderator of the Stock garage.. . And have not had to moderate anything yet... Everyone plays well with others here..

Thats what i like the best.. . This is my homepage on all computers that I own except for my file server. . .

hang in there guys. . .and just remember... the stickers were a great idea.... everyone sees them. . . and those that like your cal will check the site out.... thats how i found out about the resource... i saw a sticker on a guys Rex... .

I personally know that there is another fellow at the dirt track this year who is running a crx.... I am sure that when he sees this

on my car that he will by by to check out the site...

I'm also working on some ideas for the Community calling cards. I think that would def. help get the word out. Every time I see a well loved CRX, I just want to tell them about the site (the owners, not the rexes)

BTW, if anyone has any ideas for what the cards might say, let me know. Like I said before, I'm great with the eye-candy but not so much with the content.

i think N11 will open the doors for people to get to check out the site that may not know about it.... aong with the stickers.. lets just mention it to everyone we talk to up there. ..

Exactly! That's how I found out about the Resource...last year at N10.
