What's your monitor's resolution?

I'm just curious. Some of you take ginormous digital pictures for example. The real reason though, is that I just got a new monitor at work, it's a 17" LCD with a native resolution of 1280x1024. I've been using 1024x768 for years, my 15" LCD at home limits me to that actually.
I tried to set the resolution to 1024 on the new 17, but due to the nature of LCDs, it looks like garbage, so I just keep it at 1280. I've noticed since having that new monitor, that very few internet sites utilize that much screen space. Most sites seem optimized for 1024 or 800x600.

Yea I don't like bigger resolutions because it makes everything small and harder to read. I remember thinking that 1024 was way to small...

This is one of the reasons I hate static web design nowadays.
Well over half of the viewers use the 1024x786 resolution.
But, even a browser doesn't use the full screen. Especially internet exploder.
So you're still stuck with designing roughly at 800pixels wide.
However, the people who truly appreciate design, all have 17/19" monitors. 20" wide screen is gaining territory rapidly. So your website will look tiny.
This is a strange time of non-conformity.
We're all going to end up with some weird hybrid wide screen setup in the end. That's going to throw off everything.
It's gonna take a while for us to get there though.

At first I couldn't stand how small everything was, but I needed to use it for some music programs that had many windows to work with at the same time. I have a decent 19" Hitachi monitor (CRT) that's about 7 years old now.
Now I can't stand how weird lower resolutions look, like when I bust out an oldschool computer game.

1024x768, The native res of my LCD projector. 
I actualy wish it had native 1280x1024, it will run it, but it al looks liek crap, even in games. But the frames at 1024x768 are nutz on an nvidia 6800. Cant wait to grab a 7950.
My screen also ends up being 6ft wide. Nothing is to small LOL.
I seriously need to get a pic of it.
