Get some of this stuff...

Krylon makes it, it's called Stained Glass Paint. That's what I used on my 88-89 tails, it works quite well. Here's an article from homemadeturbo about spraying a set of old-school clear tails all red with that kind of paint to get rid of the stock amber corners.

Hope this helps man...BTW you won't find it at an autoparts store, you will find it at craft/hobby stores like Hobby Lobby and Michael's or wherever you can buy crafty junk in your area. Anybody that carries a lot of Krylon products can probably order it for you (like small hobby shops, etc).

The red is cool, I've used it -- but I tested on a spare cracked center taillight section first anyway. The paint is translucent, not opaque -- so orange will come out yellow at first, you have to put coat after coat and build up to the color you want...not like regular paint where the first coat is the end result pretty much.

I got mine from Wal-mart by the model cars. Candy apple red or something like that. Testors brand in a 3oz size is what I had. You want to get some kind of decent clear to go over it, when I did it years ago without a clear coat it faded/washed away in a year or 2.
