The new Nissan Micra convertible (UK).

Sure looks more attractive that that ugly Mini!
(And Jenny looks good, too.)

I'll take the girl, you can keep the car.
The Mini is way better looking than that... bubble.... thing....

...and I don't know if you driven one, but it feels damn close to a CRX in the autocross.

How nissan promotes the new micra:

How BMW is promoting the new cooper:

....and I'm not even showing you the uber horny "works" version.

That's an unfair comparison. The "works" version is a souped up mini.
But I agree. I'd take the works mini over the micra-R if they'd make one.
Having had the chance to drive a Mini once in an auto-x, i'd have to say that yea, it does handle nicely, but i feel uncomfy driving it.. the seating position is nowhere near 'me'... i'd never buy one based on theat alone. Maybe an Elise or something... haha!

But yea, that nissan 'bibble' or whatever it is ain't all that great. I'd buy a Fit well before i'd buy that. And a Fit is a wonderfully handling vehicle apparently... right up there with the best of the Civics and so forth when modified out.
What's the matter, you guys don't like "cute" cars? Hey, I said it was "interesting"- and so is a train wreck..... You can sure tell it was designed by the Renault half of the Nissan family.

Hmm, I've never seen Top Gear. And after listening to the pissy wankers on the show, I'm not likely to do so again. Reminds me of a married couple I know who disparage everything. Needless to say they only had one child.....

Now, the Micra at least looks good in gold and at that particular angle. Yes, it is dorky in other views, especially with the "Frisco Puce" paint job that screams, "Mary Kay Cosmetics" saleswoman (or worse).

As for the Mini, I still maintain that "butt ugly" is a compliment for it. (the same comment I made when the del Sol was dropped like a t_rd on the US market). :nananananana:
ooooh...dissing on topgear. You've got nerve.
It's only the best known, best viewed, best rated and longest running reliable car show...since....well....ever, actually.
Never heard of the program until today. But then, I consider Benny Hill to be the high point of UK television. Doctor Who? Gaaaack!

The program may be top-rated, but the two clowns I saw (Hammond & Clarkson? Had to look up the program on Wikipedia) still come off as pissy wankers. Couldn't stand to watch past the first part of the Espace topchop. Got tired of hearing "Mr. Expert" pontificate endlessly. Ya'd think the "talent" was French or something with their constant grousing.
Well DUH they're brittish. What do you expect?

As for the program, they're just about the only show I know (and I know quite a few) that not only get to drive all of the hotnezz cars FIRST. They also do it on their OWN track behind the studio. THey do this with a racing driver (incognito driver believed to be a former lemans driver) to compare the cars amongst one another.

To top this off, they recently crashed a koenigsegg CXX. Yes that's the same show. It spun out on the fastlap on the comparison test due to lack of grip on the back.
Koenigsegg took the car back, and they are now fitting the car with an adjustable rear wing. Well I could ramble on and on...but it's a bit pointless if you don't watch car shows.

I agree, I drove a mini-S in autoX, it was pretty fun, a lot like my CRX with more power. Surprisingly, the supercharger didn't give a smooth power curve, it would spin the wheels after corner exit. But I agree on the seating position and the feel. I don't like floor-hinged pedals, and also it didn't have a dead pedal.
